Description

What is Mylimus 2mg Capsule?

Mylimus 2mg Capsule contains salt called Tacrolimus. This capsule is an immunosuppressant medicine. It helps to prevent organ rejection in people who have had liver, heart, or kidney transplants. Following an organ transplant, our body’s immune system will try to reject the new organ. This medication controls the body’s immune response to accept the transplanted organ.

What Tacrolimus drug is used for?

Tacrolimus is sold under the brand name Prograf. It is manufactured in India by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Private Limited. Tacrolimus is used along with other medications to prevent rejection ( attack of a transplanted organ by the immune system of a person receiving the organ) in people who have a kidney transplant. It is used along with other medicines to prevent rejection in people who have received a liver or heart transplant. It is in a class of medications called immunosuppressants. It works to decrease the activity of the immune system to prevent it from attacking the transplanted organ.

What is transplant rejection?

Each person is a one-of-a-kind collection of cells, tissues, and organs. The body system that recognizes a person’s cells and tissues are called the immune system. Rejection is a process in which the immune system finds foreign cells and tissues in the body. It attempts to destroy them to protect the body from harm,

When a person receives a kidney transplant, the immune system sees it as foreign and attempts to reject it by producing cells and or antibodies that occupy and damage the kidney. To prevent the immune system from damaging the transplanted kidney, you will take immunosuppressant ( anti-rejection ) drugs. It is very important to take your medications every day, as prescribed by your doctor. A sudden decline in kidney transplant functions due to injury caused by the immune system can occur despite taking these medications. These events are called “ rejections”.

What is a Kidney transplant?

The normal function of the kidney involves two kidney bean-shaped organs that produce urine. Urine is carried to the bladder by the way of the bladder. The bladder serves as a storehouse for urine. When the body senses that the bladder is full, the urine is excreted from the bladder through the urethra.

When the kidney stops working, renal failure occurs. If renal failure continues, end-stage renal disease results in the accumulation of toxic waste products in the body, In this case, either dialysis or transplantation is required. In this kidney transplant, patients receive a new kidney from a deceased donor or living donor. A transplant offers to live a normal life. However, It also involves a life-long dependence on drugs to keep the new kidney healthy.

  • What are the requirements of a kidney transplant?

Each hospital has its criteria but in general, candidates should have:

End-stage renal failure an be on dialysis

Late-stage chronic kidney disease

A life expectancy of at least five years

A full understanding of postoperative instructions and care.

What is a Liver transplant?

The liver is the largest organ in the body. It is located in the upper right portion of the abdomen, on the top of the stomach. Its main functions include processing proteins, fats, and carbohydrates, breaking down toxic substances, making chemical components, and secreting a yellow digestive juice called bile.

A liver transplant is an operation to remove a diseased or damaged liver and replace it with a healthy one. It is usually recommended when the liver has been damaged to the point that it cannot perform its normal functions. This is known as liver failure or end-stage liver disease.

The liver can become gradually damaged as a result of illness, infection, or alcohol. This damage causes the liver to become scarred which is known as cirrhosis. Liver failure can also occur very rapidly as a result of inflammation and death of the liver tissue.

  • What are the requirements of a liver transplant?

The minimum requirements for liver transplant are:

Signs of liver failure

Surgery and recovery

Risk of alcohol or drug abuse

Liver cancer

Cirrhosis

What is a heart transplant?

Heart transplant surgery might be considered if you have severe heart failure. This means your heart isn’t pumping as much blood and oxygen around your body as it should be. If your condition is serious and other treatments aren’t helping, your cardiologist might send you for a transplant assessment.

Donor hearts can come from anywhere in the world. The amount of time between removing the heart from the donor and transplanting it into you. The quality of the heart, size, and how well it matches your blood and tissue type will be carefully considered.

  • What are the requirements of a heart transplant?

Some causes of heart transplant include:

Heart attack

Viral infection

High blood pressure

Heart valve disease

Irregular heartbeats

Heart defects

Alcoholism or drugs abuse

Chronic lung disease

Low red blood cell count

Heart muscle is enlarged
