Ibrutinib is in a class of medications called kinase inhibitors. It works to block the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps to stop the spread of cancer cells.
What is Mantle cell lymphoma?
Mantle cell lymphoma is a rare blood cancer that starts in white blood cells in your lymph nodes. This type of cancer grows slowly before starting to grow more rapidly. Mantle cell lymphoma quickly spreads throughout your lymphatic system and to other parts of the body.
Lymphocytes are found in your lymph nodes, the pea-sized glands in your neck, groin, armpits, and other places that are part of the immune system. In mantle cell lymphoma, some of your lymphocytes called “B– cell” lymphocytes, change into cancer cells. This means they multiply quickly and out of control.
There is no cure for mantle cell lymphoma, but there are treatments that put the conditions into cancellation. It means you don’t have symptoms and tests show no signs of cancer.

What is Chronic lymphocytic leukemia?
Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a cancer of a type of white blood cell called lymphocytes. These cells are found in the bone marrow and other parts of the body. Bone marrow is the soft tissue in the center of bones that helps form all blood cells.
CLL causes a slow increase in a certain type of white blood cells called B- lymphocytes or B cells. Cancer cells spread through the blood and bone marrow. CLL also affects the lymph nodes or other organs such as the liver and spleen. CLL eventually can cause the bone marrow to lose its function.
