What is Regonat Tablet?

Regonat Tablet is a targeted therapy that contains a drug called Regorafenib. It is used to treat colon cancer, rectal cancer, liver cancer, and gastrointestinal stromal tumor ( a type of cancer of the stomach and bowel). It works to slow or stop the growth of cancer cells.

What is the work of Regorafenib?

Regorafenib is sold under the brand name Stivarga. It is manufactured by Nacto Pharma. It is a kinase inhibitor used to treat patients with metastatic colorectal cancer ( cancer that begins in the large intestine or the rectum) that has spread to other parts of the body in people who have not been treated successfully with certain other medications). Liver cancer and gastrointestinal tumor (GIST; a type of tumor that grows in the stomach, intestine, or esophagus) in people who were not treated successfully with other medications. It works to block the action of an abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps to slow or stop the spread of cancer cells.

 Regonat Tablet should be taken with a low-fat meal as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily for 21 days. Dose and duration will be decided by the necessity and need of the patient. It depends on the treatment and may change from time to time. You should take medicine as per your doctor’s advice. This medicine is strictly not recommended for children, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers. It takes some weeks and months to get a better result. The most common side effects of this medicine include infection, low blood platelets, anemia, decreased appetite, hemorrhage, and high blood pressure. It can also cause voice change, diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, rash, weakness, pain, fever, bilirubin in the urine, and weight loss.

How Regnot Tablet is given?

 Always take this medicine as per your doctor’s consultation. Regonat Tablet should be taken with a low-fat meal as prescribed by your doctor, usually once daily for 21 days. You are not allowed to crush, chew and break the medicine. Swallow it as a whole. Drink plenty of water. Do not miss the dose.
