Short answer

Dasatinib is an oral BCR-ABL tyrosine kinase inhibitor used for Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukaemia and acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Towada Products exports it from New Delhi, India, supplying Dasakast, Dasanat and Dasatrue in 20mg, 50mg and 70mg strengths to licensed buyers abroad. Pricing is on enquiry.

About dasatinib: drug class and approved uses

Dasatinib is a second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It blocks the BCR-ABL fusion protein produced by the Philadelphia chromosome, including many forms resistant to imatinib, and also SRC-family kinases.

It is approved for newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) in the chronic phase; for chronic, accelerated or blast-phase CML with resistance or intolerance to prior therapy including imatinib; and for Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. Approvals also cover children with CML, and with ALL in combination with chemotherapy. The originator brand is Sprycel.

Dasatinib is one of several BCR-ABL inhibitors in our catalog, alongside imatinib, nilotinib and bosutinib; which one a patient receives is a decision for the haematologist, often guided by mutation testing. Haematology centres and distributors usually order by the month's supply. The film-coated tablets are kept at room temperature and should not be crushed or cut. State the strength and quantity when you enquire.

Dasatinib is a prescription medicine, and whether it is suitable for a patient is a decision for the treating doctor. This page describes the medicine for trade buyers; it is not medical advice.
