Short answer
Moxonidine is a centrally acting antihypertensive used for high blood pressure. Towada Products exports it from New Delhi, India, supplying Moxovas in 0.2mg and 0.3mg strengths to licensed buyers in Southeast Asia, the CIS region, the Middle East and select markets in Europe and Africa. Pricing is on enquiry.
Moxonidine is a centrally acting antihypertensive. It stimulates imidazoline I1 receptors in the brainstem, which reduces sympathetic nerve activity and so lowers blood pressure, with less sedation than older centrally acting medicines such as clonidine.
It is approved for mild to moderate essential hypertension in the United Kingdom, Germany and many other European and Asian countries, usually when other first-line medicines are not suitable or are not enough on their own. It is not approved in the United States. The originator brand is Physiotens.
Moxonidine is not stopped abruptly, and it is not used in patients with certain heart rhythm problems or severe heart failure, which prescribers take into account. Clonidine, the older centrally acting antihypertensive, and other blood pressure medicines such as amlodipine and telmisartan are also in our catalog. Because moxonidine's approval status differs between countries, tell us the destination when you enquire. Our catalog lists low-strength tablets, which are kept at room temperature and ship without a cold chain.
Moxonidine is a prescription medicine, and whether it is suitable for a patient is a decision for the treating doctor. This page describes the medicine for trade buyers; it is not medical advice.
